Synthia felt calm, at peace. She didn't open her eyes; she didn't really feel the need to just yet. The time would come, she thought, for her to open her eyes and explore, but for the time being, she just wanted to feel the ground under her paws. She was lying on her back, feeling the warmth of the day against her fur and she smiled. She could hear the goings on around her and excitement rose in her chest. There would be new people to meet, new friends to make, new adventures to have. Her excitement bubbled like a fizzy drink in her stomach. With a deep sigh to relax her eagerness, Synthia opened her eyes.
