[Story] Problems of an Easy Fix

Today, Devrion had decided to visit the mortal realm, specifically the town of Silverlight, the very first town in this new world with residents. He was interested to see what they were doing with the place, and whether any of those who had discovered his own presence were around. Wandering the town slowly, hooves clacking against the streets, he headed for the Marketplace. Ducking into one shop than another, he smiled at the new merchandise on display. The shopkeepers, his children in a way, seemed to be doing well for themselves.
Heading back outside after a quick smile at a small offering box he spotted inside of Home Sewn, he glanced up the street... and froze. What. In the world. Was THAT run down an old patched up building supposed to be? He got the sense that it -should- be something, something that was connected to his domain. But... what?
Frowning, the god headed toward it at an increased pace, wings fluttering a bit at his back. Once he was closer, he spied a board that was falling off one of the windows just enough to peek inside. He saw tables, chairs, a long counter... This was... a restaurant? No. Not quite. It was supposed to be a tavern, he thought. A tavern! That would be a wonderful new type of business for this town! Somewhere for the residents to gather together, have drinks, food and merriment.
But right now, it wouldn't attract any patrons at all. He walked around the building, and finally flew up into the air to survey it from above. The building looked like a ruin, like it was two minutes away from falling apart completely. He wondered how exactly it got this way but, really, that wasn't important right now. This would not do. This would not do at all.
Well. He grinned. It was a good thing he was a god, hm? Hovering over the front entrance to the building, Devrion summoned his power and clapped his front paws together with a sharp 'crack' that seemed to echo down the street.
Golden swirls of light surrounded the building for a few moments, and once they faded away a few minutes later, all the holes in the roof were fixed, glass returned to the windows... broken furniture inside had been repaired, and the boards over the windows fell to the street with a clatter.
Devrion landed gently on the ground in front of the door and nodded to himself, satisfied. "Perfect. Open for business, as soon as I find a Kitsu worthy to run such a wonderful place," he commented to himself.
Marshall's eyes flew open, jolted wide awake by the sudden sounds all around him. His heart raced in his chest, his body frozen in pure terror as he tried to make sense of the chaos unfolding around him. His once familiar sanctuary had transformed into a nightmarish scene, violently yanking him out of his bed and hurling him into a mess of bottles hidden around it. Yet amidst the chaos, his grip remained steadfast on the half-empty bottle he had clutched onto for dear life.
Letting out a disoriented grunt, Marshall struggled to regain his footing in the midst of the ever-shifting environment. "What in the name of the gods just happened?!" he growled, his voice a mixture of confusion and frustration. With his ears pinned back in a blend of fear and determination, he stumbled down the tavern's creaky stairs, his eyes narrowing as he gazed at his transformed surroundings. This was not his home. No, this would not do at all.
Marshall flung open the tavern door, stepping outside to look at his tavern. Was this even his tavern anymore? His gaze landed on the deity standing before the building, a tempest brewing within his gaze. Fierce wrath danced in Marshall's eyes as he took a deep breath, setting down the remaining bottle with a controlled grace before striding purposefully toward Devrion. "What is the meaning of this?" he demanded, his voice trembling with fury, his paw gesturing angrily at his home. "This is my home and you have ruined it!" Marshall's voice seemed so frustrated and then he yelled. "Put it back, NOW!"
With every ounce of his small, determined frame, Marshall puffed himself up, standing tall as he closed the distance between himself and the god. The funny thing about that was he was only just above the height of a perma kit with a big fluffy tail. Maybe the only thing tuff looking about this kitsu was the scowl on his face and the scar and missing arm.
Devrion had started to turn away in order to search the town for someone to run the tavern, when a loud voice startled him into spinning back to face the building. He blinked at the words he heard coming from the disheveled Kitsu that had walked outside, face dead-pan for a number of seconds. It took even his godly brain a little bit to catch up. Ruined it? -Ruined- it?!! "Wha- I ... I've done nothing of the sort!" he insisted, eyes wide.
Stepping toward the Kitsu, he gestured toward the building with enthusiasm. Obviously the other just didn't understand! He had been startled by Devrion's work (no wonder, the god had actually been unaware anyone was inside). Had he known he might have an observer, he would have first brought the Kitsu outside to witness his work! "It's better now, everything is fixed, you see!" he continued, walking up to stand within the other's bubble.
"No more holes in the roof, the windows have proper glass, I've even fixed the tables and such on the inside for you! If this building is yours, which I assume it is, you can easily open it up for -business-!" The god's eyes practically sparkled at the last word. "Besides that do you not realize that I am Devrion god of commerce. You should treat me with more respect."
The small kitsu didn't seem to back down even as Devrion stepped closer. In fact it looked like Kitsu was about to put up his dukes. "No one asked you to do this!" Marshall insisted. "You say fixed, I say ruined!" He turned with a stagger to gesture at the building. "You've erased the past without asking anyone if they even wanted a tavern." He hissed.
"If kitsu want something it should come from their own paws, their own sweat, their own want!" The kitsu seemed to speak with a weird sort of passion. "If the kitsu want a tavern they should build one. But I do not accept this easy fix you snapped into being with your god powers." He turned to look at the god again with an angry look on his face.
"I only respect and fear one god being, and it's not you!" The small kitsu spat. "Return this place to the way it was, or I will do it myself! Let the kitsu of the town come together to build a tavern if they want one. If they do, I will run it, but I doubt they will build something for someone else."
Devrion didn't like the way this kitsu spoke to him, but the part about letting the kitsu build one if they wanted it, actually made some sense. Reluctantly he returned the tavern to its former horrid state. "We will try it your way. I will call on the kitsu of Silverlight. They will aid, you'll see." With that Devrion left to rally the kitsu of silverlight for this task.

[Event] Hallowed Haunt Faire ๐ป

The season has changed and the days have shortened. Hallowed Haunt was almost here! And Sweetie's Tooth had officially reopened its candy currency part of its store! Most kitsu knew to be warry when traveling near Tootsie's shop though, as they were known to play a trick or two on those who did. Though there weren't many who complained as it was often followed with handfuls of candy.
It was no wonder though when every kitsu in and near the city received a card with Sweetie's Tooth logo on it they hesitated a moment before opening it. And they were right to hesitate! Boom! Little bits of leaves cut into pumpkin and candy shapes burst from the card. And a little cut out of a jaybird flew out of the card to spook the opener.
"Tee Heh Surprise!!!!!." The card read.
This card is from Tootsie Sweets if you didn't guess that already! Hope I didn't scare you too bad! Sorry, Candy wouldn't fit in the envelope! But I've got something better, a FAIRE! But not just any party! A Hallowed Haunt FAIRE! Please come join us for tricks, treats, hayrides, corn mazes, pumpkin carving, apple bobbing, and costume contest!!! [Story] An Anniversary Surprise

Glittery couldn't have thought of a better way to spend his and Aviary's anniversary together. The Summer Soiree had been so much fun, even if Glittery was really more of a home body. He had really enjoyed watching kitsu learn more about themselves and learn how to express it out loud.
The party was exciting and with getting to see not one, but two more gods. That made three gods and a messenger of the gods he had seen so far. How exciting! Glittery's mind was getting side tracked from the possibilities when he needed to focus.
After convincing Aviary she should go rest he had moved to the kitchen to make dinner. Not just any dinner but a brand new recipe he had found in an old book. He dropped the heavy book on the book stand and flipped it open to the page with the chosen recipe. "Spa ghet ti and meat balls, strange name for a dish really...well the meat balls part is pretty self explanatory, but Spa.....must be relaxing and special right?" Glittery said out loud before reading more. "Perfect for couples mixed breed couples who are very much in love." Glittery nodded. "Yep that's us for sure." He laughed before happily pulling all the ingredients he needed.
The meatballs weren't too hard but the pasta was indeed a problem but in the end he kind of made it work. He tasted it just to be sure, oh hey that taste pretty good. "Tasty!" He proclaimed before plating the dish in a big bowl for them to share. "Aviary dinner is ready my love!" Glittery called out wagging his tail happily for successfully making the recipe.
Aviary had peeked in a few times before dinner was called. The smell of garlic, onion, and tomato filled their living quarters.ย She couldn't help but smile. "Thanks Honey. This just smells amazing! Was this really in that old book?" Waiting for him to settle before taking a bite was difficult. Working the festival really works up an apetite.ย He passes her a napkin and nods "I thought that tome would be a useful pickup."
It wasn't long before they took their first bites. It was like magic.
Better than anything they've had before.ย The couple looked at each other with joy which turned to chatting and laughing into the evening.ย
Before long they found themselves strolling the moonlit streets of Silverlight. Holding hands and whispering sweet nothings as they stroll towards a public garden.ย

A noble figure walked through her home, past the neatly left flowers, and out to her balcony.ย
Eva was still dealing with the whirlwind of feelings from the past year.ย She was only helping with the arriving souls in hopes that she might see him but even that hope was beginning to fade. All other duties had slipped her mind or interest. Her sister wanted her to go to the soiree.ย 'It would be good for you! Get you outta that funk!'ย Eva can hear Gala's voice.
She leaned over the balcony watching.ย
Watching nothing.
Birds.
The shadows move as the hours passed and the sun started to set.ย
Two figures bathed in starlite caught the Goddess's eye. Their actions showing not just attraction but tenderness. Love.ย
Devotion?
Aviary and Glittery appeared to dance as they wandered into the garden.ย The laughing and chatting turned softer.ย They looked deep into each other's star filled eyes and shared a tender kiss.
Eva found herself invested. She forgot her woe watching this familiar couple.
Glittery opened his hand to reveal a shimmering heart-shaped gem. He had been holding on to this treasure for a while now waiting for the right moment for this.ย
"Aviary.." He holds the stone up so it shines in the light. Her eyes widen "its beautiful Glittery."
Evaย caught sight of the glittering stone. They have one! She was delighted and knew she had to do something.ย ย
The couple was exchanging smiles when a small sweet voice rings in their ears.ย
Take the stone and hold it together.ย
Feel your magic in your hands.
Feel the love you have for each other in your hearts.
Their hands joined around the stone.ย
The stone, filled with their magic, shone brilliantly.
The two were filled with pure bliss.
I have blessed this stone.ย Take this home and keep it safe.
ย
The next morning was greeted with 4 brightly colored Orbs and a Joy filled couple.ย

We are thrilled to announce the inaugural Harmony of Hearts Festival, set to take place during the Season of Light, despite the recent heat wave and humid conditions. This celebration marks a significant milestone for our community, especially after a year of welcoming new Kitsusagi.
Supporting Newcomers
In response to the influx of Kitsusagi and their unique challenges, the Silverlight council has implemented new public services to assist them in transitioning to their new lives. Recognizing the struggles many face, particularly those with memories of past lives, our goal is to provide support and understanding.
About the Festival
The Harmony of Hearts Festival was conceived to help Kitsusagi navigate their new bodies, feelings, and identities. This event aims to address the confusion and distress that some experience concerning gender identity, expression, love, roles, and expectations. It also celebrates those who have seamlessly adapted to their new existence.
