/Maybe I do care...don't embarass me!/
The town of Silverlight stood quiet despite the pleasant warm afternoon. The sparse citizenry went quietly about their business through the alleys of empty buildings, each one built sturdy and warm by unknown hands. The few paws of villagers stepped silently on quaint cobblestone. The world itself was seemingly in the soft breath of morning, awaiting a deep inhale as cosmic events finally deigned to get out of bed.
From a tendril of a notion, a whisper of a mood lost in thought, a new Kitsusagi emerged from the Ether. She stumbled forward awkwardly on all fours, but quickly found that a bipedal stance felt more comfortable. How silly to think she was a four-footed creature! No idea where that notion came from. And even worse, she arrived with no clothes on! Panic set in, and the fluffy green creature curled inwards, clutching herself to cover up...nothing, really.
She blinked the sun out of her eyes and looked more closely at her surroundings. The market square was largely empty save for a handful of modest stalls, from which she could see that both vendors and customers were largely naked, or perhaps half-dressed at best. Apparently this was fine. She forced the feelings of embarassment to the back of her mind and tried to stand elegantly, as if nothing was wrong. Now that her most urgent question was answered she looked down at her own paws and considered her situation.
Where was she? In town, obviously. Next...who was she?
"Sage," she spoke suddenly, surprising herself. A passing townsfolk glanced at her, smiled, and nodded. The look he gave seemed knowing, as though this has happened before. The name came from her mouth as though someone else had spoken it to her, but now that it was out she was pretty sure it was correct. "Sage Ghostfire." She nodded, hoping that the look on her face seemed knowing as well.
And finally, what happened?
That was an utter mystery to Sage. Her memory was utterly blank, as though she had simply not existed and now she was here. A hazy voice echoed through the mental space where she had expected to find her life. /Maybe I do care...don't embarass me!/ The voice felt familiar, even moreso than her own. This mystery person was the only past she could grasp, so Sage held it tight. "He does care," she whispered to herself, only in that moment realizing the voice felt male to her, "don't embarass him."
Not an easy request, for a girl who had appeared in this world naked on all fours. But it was what she had to work with, and now she was simply here. Sage must now decide what this new life means.
