Larkspur watering her garden
Larkspur was once again outside enjoying the warm weather. She found she enjoyed all the seasons but the warmest time was her favorite for one main reason and one main reason only which was the things that bloomed in the summer time were so pretty and the fruits were so juicy how could she not love it? Watermelons, apples, and all the flowers! So here the young Kitsu was, enjoying her garden. She was walking around with her watering can making sure all her pretties got the water they needed. Just because the plants grew best in warmer weather didn't mean they could survive it without a little assistance. She had learned that the hard way when she first started growing things, and it had set her on a path of learning and reading (another of her favored hobbies) and trial and error. She still felt a bit guilty about those first few plants she had tried to grow, still out of failure her determination grew. Now here she was, growing so many different things all year round and loving it so much more than she could explain to anyone else.
"Oh my, you seem extra thirsty today huh?" She asked softly, looking at a blue flower that had started to wilt, and when she began dripping water on it she would swear the ground wasn't getting any wetter at first. She frowned, wondering if she was imagining it due to the plants wilted look or if there was something going on. Maybe this was the spot that got the most sunlight so it dried out faster? Does that even make sense she wondered. She chewed her lip as she thought, watched as the ground finally seemed to darken with moisture. Satisfied the plant was now sufficiently hydrated she moved on to the next one. It took her the better part of an hour to water and check on all of her plants and then she decided to circle back and check the blue flower. It still had that pitiful wilted look but the ground was damp and she came to the conclusion she was imagining things when she thought it was dryer than the rest of the garden. Maybe she just worried too much sometimes. More than once her friends had told her she overthought most of the things she did so surely this was just another time she was doing it.
"Still," She murmured, "I'll keep a close eye on you." She promised, before heading back to the barn to put her watering can up. She wondered if there was a reason the ground might be extra dry, and decided to see if she could learn some more about it with her readings. She didn't exactly know where to begin but figured best to start from the beginning right? One of the first books she had read had been focused on soil health and nothing else, so she decided that was the best place to start, maybe she had read something that had been forgotten when overloaded with everything else she had learned after. Well, she wouldn't know until she started she decided before heading inside.
