Fishing

Saba had never tried to fish before, so she wasn't even sure if she was doing this right, she had a stick and a sting. She sat down at the edge of the water, she was able to see the fish in the water. She put her line in and watched as nothing happened she was rather confused at first wondering why she couldn't get any fish on her line. She frowned looking into the water. "Oh come on now, this can't be that hard!!" She then watched all the fish swim away from her. She frowned fish didn't have ears how were they able to hear her?

She then realized there really was no way for her to catch a fish on merely a string. She found a piece of thin metal and she attempted to make it into something she thought she could catch a fish with. She tied it to it to her string and put it into the water. She waited quietly and she frowned once again as she saw yet again the fish were not biting at her hook. She frowned not understanding what she was doing wrong with this stupid fishing thing. She then thought about it her animals liked food surely the fish liked food too.

She went and found a piece of fruit and cut it into pieces with her stone knife. She then put the piece of fruit on her hook and tried again at this fishing thing. She waited once again and had no luck yet again. She decided to try something else going to her compost pile to gather some worms. They wiggled in her hand and she put them in a clay jar she had made. Saba went back to the river and she felt a little bad putting the little worm on her hook and dropping it into the water to be used as bait. Finally the fish were biting but she still hadn't gotten one on her hook that she could pull in yet. They were just eating her worm off the hook without actually getting caught.

She frowned as she pulled her line back in and put on a new worm. She sat waiting for something to happen. She finally got a fish on the line and it pulled away from her, quickly pulling her whole fishing pole line and hook into the water as she watched it all go down the river away from her. Saba huffed a breath, maybe fishing just wasn't for her and she needed to go back to growing vegetables and taking care of her animals. Perhaps another day she would try fishing but for the time being she was going to go home and leave the fish in the river. She headed back to her place and began petting her butterfly field Lallabaa. She loved their pretty green wool. Saba smiled her life was coming together she now had her cottage in the woods and her animal pen. She grinned looking at all the work she had done to build her life.
