28. Take a Nature walk

Nido was out in the woods looking for wildlife and plants, she didn't really have anything per say that she wanted to see, except for the jay bird she had tried to find the other day. She didn't have any luck on her bird watching trip but she was hopeful that she might find one someday. She had only just entered the forest when she spotted a pretty butterfly that reminded her of one of the ones when she went to go look for butterflies, she had no interest in catching them she just wanted to see them. She also also spent an evening catching lightening bugs but she had only caught them in her hands and then let them go back to continue their search for a mate.

 

She didn't touch the butterfly since she didn't want to hunt them since she knew they had really delicate wings. She continued on and she saw a creature that she wasn't familiar with duck under a bush so she hadn't gotten a very good look of the creature she had seen. She hadn't come out here to chase creatures so she just let the animal go without bothering whatever it was. There wasn't much light filtering through the trees because of the heavy clouds overhead. 

 

It was warm out and the clouds overhead gave enough cover that it wasn't too hot to be bothersome. Really it was a good day for a nature walk. So that was what Nido was doing. She could heard birds up in the trees but it was hard to see where the sounds were coming from. She continued on and then she sat down under a tree to take a break and eat some trail mix she had made at home before she had headed out for the day. It was then she saw something blue and white fly down towards her. To Nido's shock it was the jay bird she had been looking for the other day. She wanted to squeal with joy but she remained still and allowed the bird to eat some of her trail mix instead. 

 

The surprises continued when she noticed that the jay bird had decided to follow her home to stay with her. She couldn't have been more pleased that she had a new friend and had finally gotten to see the bird she had been looking for this whole time. It seemed things just had to happen when they were meant to happen not a moment sooner. 

 

Nido loved the color blue so the jay was like the perfect pet for her she made a little nest for her jay bird in her house and gave them some more of the trail mix she had made. Nido smiled brightly and slowly reached out her hand to pet the birds head gentle. She was pleased that the jay bird didn't seem to be upset about her attention. It had really been the best nature walk that Nido could have hoped for.
