Fathered Friends

Moonlight Sparkle looked around her home and she smiled it was a warm beautiful place filled with love, birds were a normal part of life and being taken care of with a gentle hand was also part of life. She was pouting today because she had realized everyone had a bird friend except her. She was starting to get discouraged thinking maybe she wasn't really part of this family because she hadn't found her friend yet. Even though her mommy and daddy had told her a number of times that she shouldn't worry that it would happen in its own time. 

 

She wandered away from home that day without telling her parents and she went into the woods. It wasn't long before Moonlight Sparkle found herself lost and crying in the forest unsure how to get back home. The dark shadows of the forest frightened her and she put her head in her lap and she started to cry. She shouldn't have wandered away from home it was dangerous and none of this helped her problem that she still didn't have a feathery friend. As she had her little pitty party Moonlight heard something a fluttering of wings. 

 

She blinked and looked up and saw a beautiful white bird with blue sparkles on its wings. The bird came right over to her and cuddled up to her. Moonlight said to the bird. "Are are you my friend??" She asked her voice full of tears as she tried to regain her voice. She then dried her tears and pet the bird, they were so lovely and they made her feel better. 

 

Moonlight then caught sight of lanterns in the forest her family had found her, they had all been worried about her wandering off from home without telling anyone. She the normal things like she shouldn't have gone off on her own. Her mother kissed her tears away and they were both thrilled for her that she had found her bird friend. Perhaps it was the bird that had led her family to her to find her in the forest. 

 

Moonlight Sparkle smiled at her bird friend as they lay in her bedroom together, the curtains fluttering with the wind. She looked at her new friend trying to think of what to name her new friend. She couldn't name them Moonlight that was her name. She also couldn't name them Sparkle that was part of her name too. 

 

Moonlight frowned and said "What is your name birdy?" She asked them as she lay in bed. She made a sound as she was thinking and then said "How about Hope?" She nodded to herself and her bird nodded to. She giggled and said "Alright then I'll call you hope, since you gave me hope when I really needed it." She said warmly to her friend. Her worry had really been a childish one. She shouldn't have worried so much about when she would find her friend, but if she hadn't have been upset she might not have found them when she did.
