Saba wasn't really sure how she was going to weatherproof her home, she stood outside looking up at her little cottage she didn't want to seal her stutters just yet since she wanted to let the cool night air in sometimes, once winter was actually coming she would need to seal them so she didn't get too cold for now she needed to work on her roof and perhaps insulate her walls. she had started selling her extra hens in the town so she had some extra silver now and was able to afford to improve her home finally. She headed into town to buy the supplies she needed to weatherproof her home. She figured a mix of hay and wool would work to keep the chill out of her house.
She had already built a small fireplace in her cabin so she could use it to stay warm over the winter months. Otherwise, it wouldn't do much good to weatherproof a home she had no way of heating. She also had her barn built and had work to do on that as well to make sure her animals would be warm enough once it got cold out. She used a mixture of clay and straw to make sure no water got in the roof and she filled her walls with hay and wool and boarded it over with boards she had bought from town.
It was a lot of work but Saba didn't mind it was after all for her own good for preparing for winter. She was tired but there was more work to be done. She had bought an axe made by a much better crafter than she was so she could cut fire wood after all it would be hard to get firewood when there was a lot of snow on the ground.
She was imagined sitting by her fire place all cozy and comfy, she would also need to expand her house at some point and perhaps improve on her building skills. She liked doing things her way instead of settling in town like some others chose. Saba didn't have anything against other kitsu she just wanted more space and the comfort of the land and trees around her. She liked feeling more connected to the earth. She had made a few friends lately so she wasn't alone.
The place she had chosen to live didn't reflect on how much she liked others, it was about what made her happy. She built a wood shelter out of logs and boards she had bought from town. Saba wiped her forehead with a rag as she looked over her work. She hoped it would be good enough, maybe she needed to buy some more boards for the roof nah she was pretty sure her clay and straw mixture would work. She hoped it would work anyway if it didn't she might end up with a collapsed roof this winter and that wouldn't be any good for staying warm.
