A New Scarf and a Warm Sweater

Fantasia loved the warm weather, the beach, and all that came with those things but she had to admit she was excited for the fall season now.  The days had already started getting a little chillier, and while she missed the warmth there was something nice about being able to bundle up in layers.  She had a very nice sweater that she had come across almost as soon as the shops started adding warm clothes to their stock.  It was warm, the inside was the softest material she had ever felt before, and the colors were perfect for the season.  She loved the dark red and orange ombre, even if it didn't match her own ombre coloring very well it didn't bother her one bit.  She pawed through the clothes she had hanging up until she found the sweater and grinned widely.  She eagerly slipped it on and wrapped her arms around herself to appreciate the softness again.  If clothes like this were available she might not mind the winter weather as much.  She finished getting ready to head into town, today's mission to find some comfy pants that would help keep her warm as well.  She hummed as she made the trek into town, feeling like she was in a pretty good mood today.  Even as the cool wind blew on her face and pushed her hair around she felt like it was more enjoyable than she had ever thought it could be.  Part of her was excited to experience the new season, although it was true if you asked her about the cold before she would have made a face and bemoaned the loss of the summer weather and fun.  Now, however, she was excited for the prospect of fun winter times.  Already the young Kitsu had discovered her love for the scents that accompanied the season, her favorites being the outdoorsy pine and the sweet scents that made her feel like she was in a bakery.  Her mouth watered thinking of the gingerbread scent and she hoped to start finding those threats in shops soon as well.  Did she have a sweet tooth?  Yes, and she was very open about that.  The fastest way to her heard was with cookies and cakes and things like that so the anticipation of winter treats added on to the comfy warm clothes had her very much ready for the new experience.

She realized then that she had gotten off track and started wandering to the food in town and that was NOT the point of this trip.  She scolded herself gently, then changed direction to the clothing store she had gotten her sweater from, reminding herself she needed some warm pants.  She walked in, replying to the greeting from the employee somewhere in the store and began looking around. It didn't take long to find a few things she liked, and head to the register to pay.  On her way she caught sight of a lovely scarf.  It was light blue with white snowflakes on it.  She stood there and stared at it for several minutes, debating with herself if she should buy it.  The sweater and pants were cute, but mostly practical items.  The scarf could arguably be practical but she wanted it because it was cute.  Shifting her weight from foot to foot she chewed her lip as she considered.  Her paw reached out to feel the scarf, thinking if it was scratchy or a texture she didn't like that would make the choice easy.  But no, it was so soft!  Well that did make the choice easy as she grabbed the scarf and placed it on top of everything else in her arm.  She was getting it.  It didn't have to be practical, she loved the way it looked and it was even softer than the inner lining of her sweater.  It was perfect!  With a happy gait she made it the rest of the way to the register to check out.  She chatted with the cashier a moment, paid, and left.  The scarf was now her most favorite piece of clothing and she knew she would probably wear it everywhere she went.  With a grin on her face she dipped into the bakery to grab a quick snack before heading home.
