Kailani Hates the Cold
Kailani had to run to town, and she was very much not loving it at the moment. It was a cold day indeed and she was appreciating the weather change. For her, it would be preferable if every day was warm and sunny. Cold just made her feel like everything was dreary and there was less happiness going around. Of course that wasn't the case, plenty of Kitsu enjoyed the colder days but to the Nautical if it wasn't summer it wasn't worth it. So here she was, grumbling to herself as she started on her list of things she needed to pick up and trying to get things done as swiftly as she could manage. She wanted to be back home with her warm blankets and hot tea instead of out and about and shivering every time she walked out of a shop. It seemed that there wasn't enough time in each shop, she was efficient and there for in and out pretty quickly, meaning more time in the chilly weather. As she stood at the door of the third and final shop she took a slow deep breath to mentally and physically prepare herself for the sudden rush of icy air that was about to hit her face. Her body tensed and she counted down 3...2...1 Push. Eyes shut tight she pushed her way out the door and felt her fins flutter in the wind. A sigh escaped her lips as she started heading back home, thinking about how warm it would be when she got back.
The trek home wasn't the worst, it wasn't even that long, but it felt like ages until she finally saw her front door. Just knowing how close she was right then added a pep to her step and had her moving quicker to cover the last bit of distance. In almost no time she threw her door open and rushed inside, shutting it as fast as she could behind her to let as little of the warmth out as possible. She did a full body shake, almost trying to shake the last bit of the cold off of her, and set her bags down. She took her sweater off, noting that she may need to get a thicker one before the season was over, and grabbed the bags back up. Bee-lining for the kitchen she began unpacking the food supplies she had gotten before pulling out a small tea box. She knew that a cup of Jasmine tea would be the perfect thing to warm her up that last little bit. She got the tea going and went to grab a blanket from the closet. She threw it on the couch and grabbed the book she had been reading the previous few days, eager to finish it, and set it next to the spot she tossed the blanket. Finally she went and got her tea, returning to the living room to curl up, wrapping herself up in a blanket cocoon and carefully situating so that she wouldn't spill her tea while she read her book. Finally, she thought, this cold day doesn't seem as bad now.
