Fantasia Sleeps In

Fantasia returned home from the market, pleased with the lovely fall haul she had picked up. The colors were so calming and warm in a way she didn't fully understand. She was singing as she began decorating the rooms with pumpkins, orange and brown decor, a couple small scarecrow figures that she couldn't resist, a blanket and a couple throw pillows for her couch. She was practically giddy with happiness as she put stuff up, arranged and re-arranged things until it was well into the night. She hadn't even realized it was so late, nor that she was so tired until she finally had everything where she wanted it. Practically purring with contentment she cleaned up the bags and small trash pieces from the items she had bought and placed and made sure everything was straightened up so she wouldn't have extra work when she woke up in the morning. When that was all done she turned and looked over the living room with a content smile as she admired the now fall themed room and nodded her approval. Then it hit her hard how tired she was now. She slowly trudged towards her bedroom, needing to start her bedtime routine but wanting nothing more than to just flop in the bed and sleep but not yet. She had to do her routine or she would regret it in the morning so she did, she brushed her teeth, pulled her hair into a messy bun so it didn't get all wild while she slept. It took a bit more time but she was finally finished with everything and walked to her bed. It was so comfy and warm and she barely managed to pull her blanket over her and she was out cold the exact instant her head hit her pillow, losing herself in dream world happily.
Normally Fantasia was up at the break of dawn to tend to her baas and fowl before starting her day, but today was different. The previous night was the latest she had ever stayed up and it was showing the consequences now because she had slept in and it was well into the morning when she finally blinked her eyes opened. She stretched her arms and yawned before sitting up and rubbing her eyes a bit. It took a moment to realize how much later it was that normal and felt surprised. She was normally wide awake as soon as the sunrise started to show the colors but the sun was up now and she was only slowly waking up. She chuckled at herself, shocked that she had messed up her entire routine just because she was so excited for the fall decor. Who would have thought she would love the colors and everything that came with this season. With one more stretch she motivated herself to get out of the bed and head to the kitchen. She was waking up now, and already feeling hungry for a quick breakfast before she had to get outside and take care of her precious livestock babies that she felt guilty for making wait so long already. She would bring out some treats for them as an apology she decided with a smile as she made some toast and a couple scrambled eggs. She also got some coffee brewing, ready for the caffeine to help chase the last bit of sleep out of her bones. She sat at the small table in the corner of her kitchen and sipped her coffee, grateful for the warmth and feeling like it was a magic potion and almost immediately feeling better and ready to finally start her day!
