The concept of gods were just as confusing to Zoe as the concept of appearing one day, having no inclination about their past or their history, and being expected to make something of themselves right away had been. Maybe less, if they were being honest with themselves. Zoe had little trouble believing in the existence of gods who ruled over life, or over drama (they certainly didn't want to get on that god's bad side, goodness!) or, in the case that they were currently praying to: ruled over money.

Maybe that was simplifying it, but Zoe had only heard of Devrion recently. When they heard about how there was a god of commerce and business, well, Zoe had to try to reach out. It was the reaching out part, that was tricky. Zoe had asked how other kitsu "prayed" and some of them would leave out their wares for inspection, while others would wish for a bit of luck on their next big sale day. Zoe had no store of their own, nor wares to sell, unless you counted the twigs and grasses they found on the outskirts of town each evening. They didn't really feel like wishy-washy prayers would get them anywhere either, so, instead, they asked for a little influence.

"Devrion," They said, as though the god were standing right next to them. "I think I need a little bit of, erm, inspiration. I don't expect to make a fortune - though I'd certainly like to, if you see fit to offer me that aid, ha." They rubbed one of their long ears self-consciously as they stood in the center of the Market Square. "I'm really just looking for a push. Is Silverlight the place I start a shop and settle, or am I meant to go elsewhere, if there is anywhere else to go, to find a prosperous life?" They let the question hand there in the open. What was supposed to happen next?
