Synthia had been mightily pleased when she heard of her fellow villagers in Silverlight finding intriguing objects in the beach, all by poking around in the sand. Now, sand had always been a double-edged sword with Synthia. She loved the feeling of it wriggling its way through her toes, like some living creature itself, but with her long fur, it was nearly impossible to ensure that all the sand was brushed or washed out of her fur. Often times she even wondered if the water only served the purpose of having the sand sink deeper into her fur.

But with the prospect of the beach's treasures that her fellow kitsu seemed to be finding, she found it especially compelling and so, she took the risk. She took Lady and Stormy with her, but that was less to use them for their aid in digging and more because she hoped it would be a good experience for them, to feel something other than hard dirt or grasses under their hooves. Trusting that her lallabaa wouldn't go too far without her - and that they wouldn't dare get near the water, she began to scour the sands of the beach, wondering what interesting thing she might be able to bring home.
