Bluma Jay had been walking around in the area out to the edge of the forest gathering flowers to warm and brighten her home, gathering some seed casings to grow flowers in her yard, when she came across a wandering Kit who looked a little lost.
"Excuse me are you lost?" she asked the other kit as she walked over towards her. The other kit introduced herself as Elizabeth and said she was trying to find her way back to her shop! Blu was always one to help someone who was lost or needing to get some place safe and she was happy to help escort the other back to her shop. Bluma had never thought about the idea of having fyrehens but as she talked with the shop owner as she walked her back to the shop she came to learn that having some hens around her yard would likely help greatly with keeping the bugs off her flowers, and also just away from her house in general. Elizabeth also mentioned that they are, or can be, friendly and a good source of eggs so why not keep them around if possible.
Blu was won over by the idea and as she got her back into town and to her shop she got two to start with and a coop and Elizabeth offered to help her get everything home and set up the coop. She looked over the hens she had and did think they were quite adorable even if a little loud, but the sounds might just make for a good ambiance while doing her daily chores in her house. When they got back to her home and had gotten around to making sure her fence did not have any holes that the hens could get out of, they let them go in the yard and the two kits set about putting together the coop and where best to set it up.
Elizabeth made sure to tell her everything she needed to know about dealing with the birds and what to do if they were sick or injured, various care instructions, as well as what to do with babies should the eggs hatch. Blu was a little worried about what to do with too many hens cause that sounded like a lot of work that she had not thought about but it might be interesting. The more she watched them walk around her yard and find bugs and make quick work of the pests that bothered her beautiful flowers. This might be worth it eventually and she was ok with it for now. Thanking Elizabeth she watched her go and set about contemplating names for them.
