Odette made it to town and headed to the market as planned still humming along while she looked over the place. It seemed silver the coin of the land based on the flashes of dropped coins exchanged at the stalls. That was good. She understood that well enough. It was a busy active market with kitsu of all kinds there. She noticed things were a bit different from what she remembered but at the same time it was much the same. She saw a handsome imperial flash a flirtatious smile at her which made her blush as she moved toward a large fountain. She saw a cute and friendly looking kitsu with multicolored wings by the fountain edge. “Hello Hello.” Odette gave the other a huge smile getting one in return. “I’m new in town and wondered a few things if you have a moment.” “Not a problem shoot.” Shoot what? Odette wasn’t sure but didn’t let confusion show on her face. “I happen to be a practitioner of the arts. A dancer specifically. There isn’t a law, rule or otherwise that would stop me from dancing for currency to pay for my supper, would there be?” She tried to make it a cute and friendly question but wasn’t sure if the coin was called silver still so it was better to be eccentric and whimsical then trapped by ignorance and stump herself and tie her tongue. She could find out the name while listening more and pretending to shop later. The other laughed and shook her head no. “Wonderful!” Clapping her hands loudly she moved aside and set her fan beside the fountain as she wouldn’t need it for what she had planned. “Care to keep a rhythm and I’ll show you something fun?” She spun and gave a dramatic bow while asking the other for the favor. Seeming bemused, confused but playing along the other started to clap out a rhythm with her paws. Thus with a new rhythm she began to sing and dance. Her voice was clear and strong as she sang along with the claps by her new friend.

“In this new land the song of today grows
Here tumbled down in a whirl with a twirl
Thusly I shall sing and dance these few shows
Spinning along may I shine like a pearl”

She turned and twirled adding in leaps and steps as needed. She could see others in the market take a look here and there. She noticed a brown kitsu holding a bird tapping her foot on the ground that matched the rhythm her fountain friend had started.

“Come along sing along with me my friends
The market stalls so bright with commerce flair.
Welcome the market full of odds and ends.
Let the coin flow and fill this up the square.”

There were more kitsu watching now and she saw the imperial from before talking with a dark kitsu with long wings but they both seemed interested in watching her dance and she jumped and twirled more as she went along. The steady rhythm clapped out by her gray kitsu friend was very helpful. After this if she had enough for a few drinks she was going to treat them. It was only fair to share the silver she was helping her get after all.

“Dance, sing, laugh and play. With us please stay here
Drink and merry make with us all night long.
Long as you are here the good times draw near
Lift up your voices with me in sweet song.”

She noticed several kitsu had coins in their paws so she decided to wrap this up fairly quickly and find out the value of the coins that she had a keen suspect that she would be getting. Spinning on one foot she gave a dramatic finish with her cuff jewelry catching the light and flashing bright enough that it caught most eyes.

“The light before us we carry inside.
Friends may our songs be forever allied.”

With that she bowed and started to collect the coin. There were many faces she had seen come up and introduce themselves and she introduce herself back. Thus she came to learn Elizabeth who raised feyhens like her cute little partner chili who she had actually brought with her to market as she had time today. That amused Odette more then anything else as the creature was so fat she thought it might not be able to walk on it’s own. Clearly it was pampered. She met the pair Artimishia and Theris who invited her to drink with them. She of course asked for directions to the local libation distributor and would meet them a bit later. She blushed when Theris shook her hand. She wasn’t sure why but she felt nostalgic in some way still it didn’t matter she quickly became distracted saying hello and meeting several others in the town. Moving back to her fountain partner they were waiting patiently for her. “That was a lovely song and dance. You certainly did show me something interesting.” “Thank you for that. Shall we split the coin since you did help me earn it.” Seeing the other making a face like they may decline she quickly cut the gray kitsu off. “Of course it’s actually bribery to have you tell me about the town and get a drink with me.” She winked and smiled playfully. Hearing the other laugh she extended an arm. “By the way, I’m Odette Winddancer. Thank you by the way. It was only because I had a solid rhythm that I could do as well as I did. Perhaps in the future you could help me again; of course it would mean accepting more bribes for your work and a few meals and drinks with me.” The pair laughed. “Oh I think I could find it in my heart to accept such bribery. I’m Cerci Frostspring.” Odette was glad the other had a sense of humor. Dour sticks in the mud were not her cup of tea. “I’ve got an invitation to some drinks later with a kitsu or two who watched the show so firstly any warning of which drinks to avoid so I’m only a fool as much as I choose to be?” Thus began a lovely long conversation as the pair toured the market giving Odette a chance to gauge the worth of her silver and find out things to remember and places to see in the town of Silverlight.
