Fantasia was pleased, she had been adjusting to her new life here very well. She had gotten a job, managed to find a cute little house (nothing fancy but it was decent) and fixed it up nice. Now she was realizing it was a bit empty though, and that feeling of missing something grew over time as she began to notice quite a few kits running around town. Every time she saw them running and playing and laughing together she smiled and her heart longed to bring one home to join her family. She watched as a blue Celestial and a purple Imperial kid played tag, an orange Terrestial was using a stick to draw in the dirt across the way and a maroon Imperial who looked to be reading with a...was that an orb wrapped in a blanket next to them?
Fantasia couldn't help herself, she made her way over to the Imperial and gave a friendly smile, "Good morning, is that a good book?"
The young Imperial looked up, seemingly surprised before nodding slowly and replied "It is, it's about a group of kits who go on an adventure to save the world from monsters." Their eyes were bright with excitement as they spoke about the book.
"What sounds very interesting. Do you like adventure stories like that?" She asked, and chuckled at the excited not the little one gave her, their hair falling in their face from the force of it. "You know, I think I recall seeing some adventure stories the last time I was in the book store. Maybe if I see one next time I could pick it up for you?" She was surprised at herself, but honestly she meant it. She would pick up some books, and anything else the little one might want.
"Really?" Their eyes were wide their mouth a small 'o' of surprise, her tail wagging fiercely.
"Really really." Fantasia nodded, wondering if she could talk to the Council. Perhaps they would let her take this little one home, then she could buy her all the books she wanted.
Fantasia told the kit she had to go, but while she was out she would keep an eye out for a new book. The kit gave her a quick tight hug and she felt her heart wanting to burst. All of her errands were wiped from her mind as she decided to go straight to the Council. She already adored the little Imperial with her whole heart, and knew that she could and would adjust her life to make sure they fit in perfectly and comfortably. She could show them how to care for the baas and fowl, and when the weather warmed up they could go to the beach and Fantasia could teach them to swim and build sandcastles. Her eyes were shining with tears, she already adored the little one.
